Feeding Uncertainty
A potluck and performance series for those who choose to admit we simply do not have answers
In our American cultures, we often speak with conviction and certainty – whether in political, personal, or religious spheres. But what if there is a multiplicity of answers to any single question, or diverse experiences that lead to the greater good? Throughout the Uncertainty Potlucks series, performance artist, songwriter/composer, and former theology student Rachel Austin offered readings and viewings as prompts for creative responses to the deconstruction of [religious and political] certainties.
The pressure to know is taken off as we come together and, for a mere hour or two, suspend our belief and disbelief. Over the course of several monthly gatherings, we allowed ourselves to wander into and stimulate each other's uncertainties through shared performance and discussion.
